What is Art + Race?
Art + Race is a creative convergence of
provocation, strategy and beauty where designers, visual artists, writers,
musicians, dancers, and filmmakers who are also community organizers,
academics, politicians, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and others, come together
to reimagine the role and impact that race plays in every aspect of our
creative lives.  As part of the ongoing social practice at Impact Hub
Oakland, participants of this conference investigate the complicated and
difficult realities of society and institutions such as education,
transportation, housing, media and beyond to imagine and construct realities
that are rooted in intersectional equity.
Art + Race is a project of Omi Gallery curated and produced by Ashara Ekundayo.
